Obama vs Darth Vader

I once had a dream where I was having the coolest lightsaber battle ever with none other than the Dark Lord Darth Vader himself – and I was winning!

I am no Sith myself and have fairly decent manners, so I decided to let Vader live and he ran away like a little girl. I knew that he still had some business with Luke and I didn’t want to mess with the Star Wars universe and timeline. That’s how considerate I am!

Unlike the new US president, apparently. He goes into full on battle mode with Vader, as is evident in the picture below. Go Obama, the force is with you!

Only now, at the end, do you understand:

Space Battleship Yamato built from LEGO

Lego stuff is cool. That’s what I keep telling myself so I can keep on buying Star Wars Lego and replay Episode 3 the way it should have been (with Jar Jar ending in a Lego lava pit). For a little moment I even considered buying that Lego Deathstar. But to be honest, there’s too many pieces in that set and I run out of patience so quickly that I would just end up looking at the packaging instead of building the damn thing.

The guy who built this cool Lego Space Battleship Yamato though… not only does he have angelic patience and skills. I’m sure he also has a mental problem. Why else would you spent around 40 hours playing with tiny little bricks? Was there nothing on TV?

Obviously I am just plain jealous of his skills. The guy with the awesome skills is, of course, an artist from Hong Kong and goes by the name of Vincent Cheung. He has a gallery up over at Brickshelf with many more awesome Lego pictures, so go and check it out.

I want that ship, not excuses:

Dick Cheney arrives at the Presidential Inauguration in Washington DC

Fuck Off Bush!

Having lived in the US for nearly 5 years now I am ashamed to confess to an absolute disinterest in American politics. Of course its hard not to appreciate the irony of seeing a country teetering on the verge of bankruptcy blow $150 million on the inaugural bash of its new President (or a Fuckyouverymuch to the old one depending on how you look at it). But when you’ve already spent several times that on getting yourself elected – I guess a few million here and there are little more than crumbs off the table.

Anyway – it was hard to not to resist a chuckle (translation: I laughed so hard I almost shit my pants) at the sight of Dick “Master of Evil” Cheney arriving at the proceedings in a wheelchair. The reason? Apparently Dick threw his back out as he was carrying his bags out of the VPs official residence. I guess he underestimated the weight of all that silverware…

Its a fitting end perhaps to 8 years of misrule and a jabbering dupe of a President who made Forrest Gump look like Tony Robbins. All that’s missing from this picture is the white cat on Cheney’s lap and Bush slipping on a banana peel.

Oh Look! The Watchmen TV Spot #2

What a great week this is turning out to be. Galactica is back, I still have (some) money in my bank account and we get to see the lovely Watchmen TV spot #2 – because the world needs its heroes back. Or so I hear.

I actually have no clue if this is new or not. You see, I live in a part of the world were we still have black and white television, have to get our asses off the sofa to change the channels, and only recently discovered the advantages of fire and the wheel. I tell you, that wheel thingie is quite handy.

Where the Hell is Matt? – Team Fortress 2 Style

Now, wether or not all those Where the Hell is Matt? videos are a big fake or not, it is still a pretty neat idea to go dancing around the world. Even if the world may or may not be nothing but a bluescreen trick played on the whole internet. But I digress.

This cool video is basically the same. Just with those guys from Team Fortress II dancing around in other online environments (like Second Life, WoW and other stuff). Very entertaining!

T-Mobile Dance

Oh look! T-Mobile has a new viral ad that’s a rip-off inspired by those improv everywhere videos. Still, looks pretty neat!

Friday Classic: El grande espectaculo de PAC-MAN

Every Friday we’ll be posting some classic stuff from our great German sister site with no readers. Because a) it’s Friday and b) we’re lazy and c) we don’t have any readers on this site either. So who cares?

This is a commercial for some game stuff, Gametap. No clue whatsoever what that is and I’m not going to google it either. You could though – and tell me off in the comments for not knowing. You know, because we value your opinion and we would love to know what you think of our site and/or products! REALLY!1!!

The commercial shows the eternal struggle of Señor Pac-Man and his fight against those pesky little ghosts Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde. In Mexican puppet theatre style. Nice!

For me, Pac-Man was one the only highlights of my holiday in Spain (muy encantado) with my parents when I was little. I was about 8 or something and instead of going down to the beach (like all the normal kids in my age) I decided that my time and my parents money was much better spent in the arcade.

There’s no such thing as too much Star Wars content on this blog. There just isn’t. Above image by Tribs from the b3ta community. He did it, and he is awesome for it.

The Year In Video Game Violence

IGN reviews the year 2008 in the most important category in video gaming, ever: Violence!

Some of it is a bit of a stretch really but I don’t care. Much. At all.

And I didn’t find Moira to be irritating but she seems to inspire hate in a lot of people though. Because there is nothing else we really should be worrying about. Like why there’s no decent games on the Wii.

The video is unembedable so go to IGN to watch it: http://uk.ps3.ign.com/dor/articles/941874/the-year-in-violence-2008/videos/YearInViolence_121908.html
